This is week three of our three part series on Creating a Killer Execution Culture for you business.

So it’s more than a little ironic that I’ve been so busy getting things done that I haven’t quite finished the third and final installment of the new Free Line Report. This one will bring it all together and show you how to set-up two key weekly meetings around your Make or Break that we defined last week.

The good news is not that I have a very good excuse for not finishing the third issue yet, and you’re going to love it when I show you the new software I’ve been working on. If you’re an internet marketer, this will be a very big deal– and it’s free.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell you what it is yet, but I’m in Costa Rica at the StomperNet secret headquarters. Here’s a picture of it.

Inside that window, there are seven people working, and we just hired another one yesterday. The quality of people that we’re getting down here are unbelievable, and at a fraction of the cost of the United States. At this rate, StomperNet may soon have more full-time people in Costa Rica than we do in Atlanta.

Meanwhile, I haven’t seen my kids for almost two weeks, and that’s about the longest it’s been since they were born, four years ago next month. I was supposed to just stay here a week, but it turned into two.

The good news is my Spanish hasn’t been this good since college. And my sleep schedule is so off, I don’t think jet lag is possible. I’ve literally been up all hours of the night for a week, talking to a team of programmers in Eastern Europe, and putting the finishing touches on the Internet Marketing industry’s ultimate killer app!

But today I’d like to talk with you about something else that’s been on my mind for a really long time – the absolute best way to leverage your internet marketing skills, so that’s today’s newsletter topic below.

The Best Way to Leverage Your Internet Marketing Skills

If you’re reading this, there’s a 79.2% chance you’ve never made any real money online. And based on our most recent surveys, at the same time, most of you feel like you’ve developed some decent internet marketing skills.

So the Big Question is: how are you going to connect the dots and turn those skills into money? (I assume you’re not doing this for your health )

Is the best way to leverage your interest and abilities in internet marketing to move forward with your current business? How about cranking up a current business idea that you have?

That’s great if you have some momentum going:

…a good idea,

…a good market,

…AND you’re executing well on a daily basis.

But if you don’t have all of those things in play, I think the best way to leverage your internet marketing skills is to use them on behalf of somebody else’s business – a business that’s already successful in some areas but not as successful as it could be with better online marketing. (And by the way, there are a LOT of those).

Frankly, it’s way easier and much quicker to get results by improving the internet marketing results of a successful business than it is starting from scratch.

The Value of Simply Knowing More Than They Do

First, I completely understand if you don’t think you’re ready to go out and do Internet Marketing for OTHER businesses.

But you needn’t worry . . . it’s kind of like the old story, where Fritz and Raul are walking through the jungle and suddenly find themselves face to face with a ravenous lion. As the lion licks his chops and stares them down, Fritz takes off his backpack and says, “I’m going to run for it.”

“Are you nuts? You can’t outrun a lion,” says the terrified Raul.

Fritz smiles at his companion, “I don’t have to outrun the lion. I only have to outrun YOU.”

Likewise, to be a successful online marketing consultant, you don’t have to be the world’s biggest expert; you just have to know more than your prospect – the owner of the business.

Plus, your expertise can be in any one of many different areas. It can be in list-building, website conversion, site design, not to mention pay-per-click, affiliate marketing, e-commerce store set-up’s, and too many others to list.

Or it can be in the biggest mystery of all to most all business owners – Search Engine Optimization.

A lot of business owners understand how SEO can deliver customers who are looking for exactly what you have. But for most, it’s a total puzzle, and one they’re completely clueless on where to even start.

Plus, if they HAVE tried, it’s pretty likely they’ve had a bad experience with a so-called SEO company that charged them to “optimize” their site, but didn’t do anything to get them any backlinks or anything else of real value.

And business owners have one thing in common – they’re busy. They don’t want to try to do it themselves; they’ve got a business to run. That’s where you can make a killing, and pretty quickly, too.

But They DO Get Excited . . .

I’ve talked to a lot of business owners over the years, probably more than most people do in several lifetimes.

And when you take the time to explain the connection between Search Engine Marketing and New Customers (the true POWER of the Internet for them), you really have their attention. When you help them understand that internet search can deliver them the most targeted potential customers in the history of marketing (and if you do it right, those customers are FREE), all they want to know is how much you’d charge to just do it for them.

And you’ll be SHOCKED at how many people you talk to don’t have ANY idea what you’re talking about.

They DO get it pretty quickly, though, and get very excited about it (didn’t you, when you first heard about Search and learned that it was possible for YOU to rank at the top of Google for your keywords?)

Why are business owners so clueless?

Because they’ve got a business to run, payroll to make, employees to keep happy, customers to satisfy. Once they know about Search – all they have is another problem, because now they have a KNOWN unknown. And the ONE thing right away – they need HELP.

If you’re the one that explained it to them in plain English, don’t be surprised when they ask YOU for that help.

If you’re a subscriber of ours and any other marketers out there, you know: the supply of qualified SEO consultants is so limited. The need for them is huge.

And one thing that many marketers are talking about lately is about Local businesses. No doubt that is a huge opportunity, but I believe that the beauty of the Internet, and this type of business opportunity, is that you can service customers ANYWHERE, very successfully.

If you’re looking for a good business, doing SEO consulting for already profitable businesses in need of more customers should be at the top of your list.

Bottom Line . . .

Of course, we all want to have our OWN Big Idea and be the one to make it work. But if you could quickly find other businesses that don’t have this “Internet marketing” thing figured out – and help them – wouldn’t that be low-hanging fruit for you?

Even if you’re not the world’s biggest online marketing expert, you likely know, or can quickly develop the knowledge and techniques that make you an Expert in the eyes of 99% of all business owners.

And – here’s the key – those business owners are often willing to pay a lot of money to someone who can help them get more new customers using techniques that they’ve only overheard at cocktail parties.

Now That’s a Win-Win!

Helping others get what they want from Internet marketing, and making a ton of money by doing so.

If you think about it, maybe that is the Big Idea after all.

If you want an Internet business that’s pretty much guaranteed to succeed, help OTHER business owners improve THEIR rankings in the search engines and convert more customers.

Did you know that Google is now including site speed as a factor in your rankings?

Here are a three tips to speed up your site up and get those rankings back:

  1. Compress your content – enable gzip on your server (or just ask your hosting company)
  2. Cache your content – add "expires" headers (again, this can just be an email to your host)
  3. Load content in the correct order: As a general rule CSS first, Javascript last

And bonus # 4 – use the Fiddler tool to ensure you don’t have missing files (404) or redirects (301/302)
