Thanks Andy!

We've been using TwitterFeed with one of our companies and recently got into the TweetLater and bit.ly features.

I tried TweetDeck after seeing a few people use it, but didn't really get into it personally. I'll check out the others that Sherman suggests and see how I like them.

Thanks for the insights ;)

Thanks Andy for your Twitter Tips. I love Tweetlater and TweetDeck. I also like http://Twello.com. It is the yellowpages of twitter. Register yourself and you can look for other tweeple with similar interests and other people can look for you. Also, http://Mytweetspace.com has free backgrounds you can make for your twitter accounts.

Great post thanks. We use tweetdeck and tweetlater and as you say I have found them to be great for time saving. Tweetdeck gives you a live view of all the keywords you are following which is fantastic but even this can use a lot of time particularly if you are watching very competitive keywords. There are a lot of tweets containing 'SEO' for example!
Tweetlater can be set up to store up every tweet containing predetermined keywords and phrases and will send you an email everyday with a list which might suit some people better than trying to follow it live.
For further automation you could try TWOLLO which will auto follow your target audience for you.

Great post with solid twitter info. One thing that I do is search for my keywords in Twitter and follow people who look like they care about my end market. I get a lot of reciprocal follows because of this (and my username is interesting to them also).

Andy, thanks for the tweeter tips ... TweetDeck.com looks great so far, especially the fact that I can tweet a link to an images and it gets uploaded to TweetPic.

Because my wife and myself own a Royalty Free Pictures online business. http://www.gravatar.com/avatar/9a095aee8c89b0f76767df2e1c5a51e8?s=80

Excellent tools there! I've enjoyed one other tool that is noteworthy:

HOOTSuite (a web based, multi-account management tool).

Appreciate the helpful tips!

I've spent many years pulling my internet knowledge together and twitter has excellerated it greatly. I'm all about tools that will help in that effort.

I find just being honest, using our 5 senses within our tweets and keywords, of course living on Maui in Hawaii really helps in the keyword dept.
Being active in non-profits and dealing with food energy, farming, water, community and sustainability help to keep the focus where most people's interest lays.

Making money is about providing a service. Work on the service that is worthwhile to others and the money will follow. If not money than the means for a happy life, which is all money is just one tool in our tool box of life that we are already given and is available at any moment. We choose to use them at anytime.

Aloha from Maui,

Andy, great tips...I use TweetDeck (which I have a love/hate relationship with) and TweetLater which I adore.

For efficiency, I'll preprogram about a weeks worth of tweets then add in fun stuff & random RTs as I go.

When I was in Australia for 2 weeks with Brad & the gang at UMS presenting, I do 2 weeks in advance. TweetLater rocks for staying connected.

Ciao, Melanie

Twitter has worked well for me too. In fact I won my two tickets to the Stomper Live event on the affiliate contest as a result of opt ins using only Twitter and not mailing a list.

I hope that folks who are marketers will remember tips that Don Crowther has shared about building relationships when using Social Media. Twitter is no different. If we go on Twitter and constantly push product or service messages, people will tune out. Remember to use the 3 part system. A third of your posts should be retweets or other folks great info (this shows that you are reciprical - a good member of community); a third should be about you - to build relative knowledge about who you are as a person (I'm not talking mundane things here ... but helpful glimpses into WHO you are as a person which helps to build trust); and then a third about your product/service/blog/etc (so people can see how to engage with you).

Yes, it is more work. However, it is more balanced and you'll ultimately KEEP the followers that you attract. And isn't that what we all want?
