Pure Evil: 10 More Devious Ranking Tips for Video + Social Marketing
Hey guys,
Back again with the follow up to the Video and Social Marketing case study we presented earlier this week. (If you missed it, you can catch the blog post here).
If you remember, I showed you how Jeff Johnson did a demonstration of just one of his "Get More Traffic" blueprints at a LIVE conference.
By following the 6 steps he outlined, he got 6 of the Top 10 Google listings for his keyword. Here's the evil part…
He says it took 15 minutes of work, and less than 24 hours of waiting to get those results!
I know what you're thinking, you're probably calling "Baloney!" and I have to say I was thinking the same thing, but I DID see it – so go figure.
So that blueprint was pretty cool. Jeff's got a deal going right now that includes, like, 3 whole years of prior coaching, and a year of membership in 2 of his membership sites. (StomperNet subscribers get a discount – because, well, you're my subscriber – And that's the way it is.)
Cool.
There's more later. Don't do anything yet, because I want you to get these next 10 tips.
So here's 10 more tips from Jeff that are all about ranking higher and actually having the ranking STICK – and it all uses video and social marketing (something we know a little bit about
).
See, the key to success with any Social Bookmarking (SB) promotion is to make is seem "natural" to the search engines. The way to accomplish this by yourself is the set up MULTIPLE SB accounts on multiple sites. Then, you run your promotion SLOWLY over time: A few bookmarks today, a few next week, a few next month, etc.
That's the general idea. Let's get into some of Jeff's specific recommendations. (Now, this is relatively mysterious and advanced stuff – but don't be intimidated! Also, know that not everybody does this, so it's okay if you don't get it the first time you read it.)
- Register multiple accounts for each of the Social Bookmarking sites listed at SocialMarker.com. We suggest starting out with at least 10 unique accounts for each Social Bookmarking (SB) site. Here's some additional tips that will help you do this quickly.
- For example, visit propeller.com and open up 10 unique accounts using different usernames, email addresses, etc.
- Use free email accounts from Yahoo, Gmail, etc. to open up the accounts.
- Repeat the process for each of the 29 Social Bookmarking sites listed at SocialMarker.com
- Jeff's guys tell him it only takes about 15 minutes to sign up for all 29 of those SB sites. So creating 10 accounts at each should only take a few hours to complete.
- Use SocialMarker.com itself when signing up for your new accounts; when it takes you to each of the 29 sites, don't enter your existing passwords. Simply sign up for a new one and move on to the next.
- **TIP – Use RoboForm.com to organize all your usernames and passwords – it's a great time saver (not just for this, but for a LOT of your online activities).
- Rotate the SB accounts you use for each page/post/video you submit through SocialMarker.com
- For example, you should have made 10 propeller.com accounts in the last step. For any given item you are bookmarking, randomly choose 3 of those accounts to submit your item to. The next time you bookmark an item, randomly choose 3 more.
- Do NOT submit this same page to all 10 of your propeller.com accounts at the same time. It may be tempting, but it defeats the purpose of this strategy if you don't follow it to the letter!
- NOTE: We're using propeller.com as an example here, but this applies to each different SB site just the same.
- Continue to add new SB accounts to use in your promotions on a regular basis.
- For example, we started but setting up 10 accounts for each SB site. Each week or two, add a few new ones so you eventually have a roster of 40 or 50 accounts at each SB site.
IMPORTANT – THIS IS A MUST-DO TIP
- This is a DO-OR-DIE tip. Mix it up! If you're promoting a page/post/video about Jessica Alba (for example) – you should ALSO Social Bookmark items you find about her from various other sites as well (YouTube, MySpace, Digg, etc.) that are NOT the pages you're promoting. This will help create that "natural" appearance we are striving for.
- Here's another evil strategy that will multiply your results with some extra effort. Social Bookmark the Social Bookmarking pages too! For example, I created a video, loaded it onto YouTube, and then posted that video to my blog. I then ran an SB promotion for my new video blog post. But then you should ALSO take the video page on YouTube where I uploaded my video and run an SB promotion on that page as well. Remember, we're trying to get multiple pages of our content ranking. This is how it's done.
- Do your SB promotions for each page/post/video SLOWLY over time. I mentioned this before, but it bears repeating. Do a few pages today, a few next week, and a few more next month. Pacing your promotions over time is vital for long-term success and viability of this strategy.
- When you are setting the "tags" for your Social Bookmarks, you should be using your primary keywords. Choose highly specific "long-tail" ones whenever possible. For example, if you're promoting a "casio exilim ex-z1080 digital camera" one of your "tags" should be "casio exilim ex-z1080 digital camera". Then, include genreal tags too, like "digital camera", "casio camera", "casio exilim", etc.
- Create videos for your promotions whenever possible, and spread them as far and wide as you can. Use services like TrafficGeyser.com and HeySpread.com to make this easier, faster and semi-automated. We do this because video pages are currently tending to stay ranked longer than the Social Bookmarking sites and blog pages. DON'T FORGET to SB those video pages like we talked about in step 5!
- Social Bookmarking shouldn't be the only technique you use to promote your page/post/video – Use every technique you know! Incoming links, article marketing, press releases, SEO, etc.
- Finally, DON'T run an SB campaign for every little page/post/video you create. Social Bookmarking can create a lot of "spam" and again, we want to make your promotions appear natural and organic.
**NOTE: If you are not natural when you do this, it's going to look like spam – because, it IS spam if you abuse it. Please understand that there is a fine line between power techniques like this and outright abuse – don't abuse this tip! Do it the right way.
That's it!
(I know, I know – it's actually a lot of information, but I've seen it work and so have a few hundred other people that attended his conference.)
Props to Jeff for letting me steal this "Get More Traffic" blueprint and send it to you.
Jeff's also a big believer in "moving the free line."
Like I mentioned before, Jeff's coaching programs and membership sites are all currently closed, so this newsletter here is one of the only ways people on the outside have been able to hear about these methods he's developing.
…But…
With some extreme generosity from Jeff (and the fact that Social Marketing IS the future of traffic generation) Jeff knows that there's a real hunger in the marketplace for this information…
And I'm sick and tired of telling people "No you CAN'T get into SMARTS anymore."
Jeff set up an offer to release HIS Social Marketing and Traffic Blueprint Strategies. Here's what he told me it consists of:
- Free VIP Seat at Jeff's Seminar In 2008 ($2,500 value)
- 1 year Unlimited Access to GetMoreTrafficBlueprint.com ($2,400 value)
- 1 year Unlimited Access to SuperAffiliateCoachingClub.com ($1,200 value)
- 14 DVD's – Free Copy of the current "Raw, Uncensored, and Uncut" version of the Get More Traffic Blueprint Live Workshop ($997.00 value)
- 9 DVD's – Free copy of Jeff's "$25,000 Coaching Club Mastermind Workshop" DVDs ($2,997 value)
- 1 Year Unlimited Use of Jeff's Killer SEO Secret Weapon… Affiliate Traffic Machine Pro ($366.45 value)
This is essentially almost every bit of coaching material Jeff has created in the LAST 3 YEARS, all collected in one place – and yeah, that's like, a LOT of stuff.
Of course Jeff's a stand-up guy, so you have a full 30 days to try everything out. If you don't like it, he'll refund you immediately, no questions asked. Well, DUH – of course he does.
Um. And by the way, I think Jeff is nuts. He's devaluing his product by selling it at this price point, especially given what he used to sell it for (which was like $10,000 or some crazy high number).
So the guy knows about getting traffic, that's for sure. But, setting price points? No so much.
But since he's doing it, we decided to give back a portion of our commission on this and actually make the price $500 less. (That way, it's a little more in line with what we charged for SMARTS).
Jeff also is doing a 3-pay option so it will be even easier to afford over the course of time.
I've been in the south so long now, I found myself saying, "you can't beat that with a stick!" when I read Jeff's offer. (I'm SO lame.)
Take a look, and tell me what you think with a comment. Here's the page with the discount.
Talk again soon,

Watching a number of your videos – some more than once – I have 2 question2. If my 'niche' market is going to be looking for the name of the city "Havre de Grace"… and it's part of my website name, etc, how do I make different titles without creating 'duplicates'to the search engines?
The other question, is it possible that I'm using Havre de Grace too often and getting too high a keyword density? Suggestions? Thanks.
I'm asking because I have lots of content and update many pages weekly, yet I can't get above the local city sites that do NOT change very frequently. sigh…..
I've had my site awhile – but I still consider myself a newbie on the techie side. Thanks for any suggestions. Warmly AND appreciatively, Ellie
Hi, I like reading Your articles. Can You teach us how to make and use this "Post a Comment" stuff as a squeeze technique??

I'm a middle aged Realtor that started a blog about a month ago and think I'm on the right track with social marketing. Before watching your video I had already set up a delicous and technorati account. Thanks for the tips.
Hey Andy,
#1 #2 and #3 on Google. #1 is your Social Marketing technique, only we did it with Slideshare.net instead of video.
Tell everybody that the methods work!!Including SEO for our sites eg articles, press releases etc.
Mark
PS One of my long tail keywords is "network cabling orange county", that is OC California. Our site is orangecountycabling.com. Others can see the results for themselves.
I am trying to build, from scratch a new designation program and association for Realtors. The principles are the same as for retailing but the market is a niche market tagetting first the Realtors and then the users of the services, the public. Can most of what you are teaching be applied to building this type of organization? I computerized my office in 1977 and have kept up with trends since. Video makes a great deal of sense to me and I want to promote this to Realtor members.
Hi Andy,
First, I am memeber of Stomper. Second, your suggestions are great! We have already incorporated the SMARTS program into our SEO. We are currently dominating 3 geographical niches for our product niche.
Our niche is, we build and install IT infrastructure ie all your voice, data cabling along with your server room.
We use Slideshare.net to post our pictures of our jobs. And use social bookmarking to get our rankings.
We are on the first page for Google with 4 to 6 of the 10 spots. Our main sites show up along with 2 to 3 of our Scribd.com or Squidoo pages.
Your ideas techniques work. We have not abandoned article, press releases etc.
Thanks for all the great info.
Mark

It really works
Thank you ! Great Infos!

Thanks for the insight on creating and using multiple social bookmarking id's. I will try this. I have the social bookmark icons for del.icio.us and Digg on both of my own web sites, inviting people to bookmark my sites. I placed these in the background of my sites so they appear automatically for each new page I create. Both of my sites are new, just launched 11/07, and only contain information and affiliate ads. As the sites grow, I will be selling products directly. Thanks for your unique information, I will use it wisely.
So, Andy…
Is the next post gonna be the free script where I, first, save all my dozens of SB account IDs, as well as the websites of mine I will be bookmarking, then, submitting any web page I'd like to bookmark, have it done auto-magically, as prescribed in your post (i.e. with account ID rotation)?
Managing bookmarking of my own content, as well as content that's not mine, sure would be made a whole lot easier, especially with all those accounts you're suggesting I set up on each service!
BTW…
I commented on this post earlier and somehow it went to your "Test This: 6 of the Top 10 Google Results – in 15 Minutes? post. My bad, I think. (You have my permission to move it)
ALSO…
My understanding of TrafficGeyser is that it does the social bookmarking automatically for you. However, this does not appear to be as extensive as you and Jeff Johnson are recommending here.
Saw Mike "The SoulMate Kit" Koenigs and Frankie "MC Surf Mafia" Kern do a video on TrafficGeyser (demonstrating SERP lisings that occurred in MINUTES) and they indicated that the videos are bookmarked at 12 sites (of which, only 5 appear at SocialMarker).
Your feedback on this would be appreciated.
Thnks for sharing this, it all makes sense and I have seen some of my videos 'leap' above existing sites just by submitting it to digg and stumble upon.
This gives a lot more detail and a more systematic approach.
One other additional benefit is that there is a lot of legwork involved and that's good for my Outsourcing business.

Hey, Andy, et al….
As usual, not just a bunch of blahblah-
instead, a course of action to help improve website traffic.
I was a Stomper and used the training and info you guys provided to build several websites– Now I am gonna have to use the training and info you are providing with the Going Natural 2.0 stuff to make them even busier!
Thanks for the tips–
You guys are the best!

wow, thanks for the even more clear and concise about this social bookmarking method and great tools.
Hi Andy,
Many thanks for taking your precious time to outline and explain in detail all the steps involved in this pretty cool Jeff's method of traffic generation with all of us.
I greatly appreciate.

You guys are the qoolest! Keep pushing the free line!
I was talking with an old guy the other day at my optometrist's office. Howard ran all the equipment for taking pictures of the inside of your eyeball. Turns out, he started there (after retiring from the Navy), as a volunteer. Then he learned how to work all this high tech equipment himself – just reading & studying! Now he runs that department.
He loves learning stuff.
I asked him how he felt about teaching. Here's what he said…
"Well, you can't take it with you, so why not give away here?"
Wow! Sure, I guess it's not like money, 'cus you can 'take it with you', but what good will it do there?
So, again, thanks for sharing so generously!

Sounds verbatim like the stuff AE has been promoting from http://mass-automation.com/2007/02/27/the-social-bookmarking-assistant/?navcat=6 for a while now. I guess it's finally going mainstream!
You should probably check out his automated stuff. Much more comprehensive than socialmarker, unless free is the only benefit you need, lol.
